Quito was founded on December 6, 1534 when, it was conquered by Spanish inhabitants who attacked the aboriginal culture, but in fact the foundation of Quito goes back a lot more before the aforementioned date, it was when its first inhabitants populated it in the Inca period

Everything started from the beginning of the Inca period when Huayna Capac died by smallpox, the same one that arrived with the Spaniards and continued spreading until causing many deaths. Huayna Capac was forced to divide the Inca empire to his two sons, Huascar and Atahualpa but since Huascar was the oldest of the two he belonged to the "Sapa Inca" which was a title that meant "The Inca, the only one"

After this the remains of his father were taken from Quito to Cuzco but Atahualpa did not attend and this was the cause of the anger on the part of Huascar who murdered the embassy of Atahualpa at the time they went to excuse him. Achieving the anger of Atahualpa, these were the different causes that caused a civil war that left an unimaginable number of deaths. In that war the person who was triumphant was Atahualpa, who captured his brother in the city of Cuzco, sent him incarcerated to the city of Quito, after destroying all vestiges of Cuzco, returning north and resting in Cajamarca where the Spaniards they surprised and captured, from that place they sent to kill their brother the two were executed on July 26, 1533

Quito was developed thanks to its constituents who proclaimed the December 6 holiday by the foundation of the city and also its inhabitants who fought every day to see it grow and know it as we now know it "The face of God". Quito is characterized by its innumerable customs such as the typical dishes for which many foreigners travel to taste them and listen to their traditional music, San Juanito.
